Kingsand Beach by M0MJA
Kingsand Beach, Cornwall another beach located in the chain of beaches along the Whitsand Bay coastline. To reach the beach you must travel down through very narrow twisting roads through the town, they are VERY narrow streets so be careful. There are a couple of car parks that can be utilised with a short 10 minute walk to the beach again very busy in the summer. Because I activated this off season and in a heavy storm I chose to drive right down to the beach as the place was almost deserted, I wouldn't recommend doing this however. By the time I got there late afternoon the storm was at its peak with sea water cascading over the sea wall onto my vehicle. The vehicle was being blown around by the force of the gales and sea water was coming through the doors and roof of my vehicle. Down at sea level with the congested town directly behind and all around signals are very antennuated both rx and tx. This was a difficult activation to complete for many reasons. Not least I was soaking wet as was my vehicle, the wind was very strong which meant smaller antennas etc. It's still a beautiful town and beach though and I'm sure on a better day it would be a pleasure to be here activating.
